KPMG Transaction Services Partner Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo Joins VFD Group as DMD

 

Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo, Partner and Head of Transaction Services at KPMG Nigeria, is joining VFD Group Plc  as Deputy Managing Director and Executive Director, bringing more than 22 years of experience across transaction advisory, corporate finance, valuation and business advisory to the NGX-listed financial services group.

VFD Group said Emezie-Ezigbo will assume the role on October 5, 2026, subject to approval by shareholders and the relevant regulators. She will serve as Deputy Managing Director to Group Managing Director Nonso Okpala.

Emezie-Ezigbo's appointment marks a move from leading transaction advisory at one of Nigeria's major professional servi4ces firms into the executive leadership of a listed financial services group.

At KPMG Nigeria, where she served as Partner and Head of Transaction Services, she led advisory engagements covering transaction structuring, financial advisory, corporate finance, valuation, due diligence, fundraising, financial modelling, feasibility studies, commercial assessments and buy-side and sell-side M&A.

Her sector exposure has spanned consumer markets, manufacturing, telecommunications, private equity, technology, power and utilities, oil and gas, FMCG and retail, covering both public and private sector clients.

She also served as a KPMG Global Accredited Valuer, advising clients on business and investment decisions and supporting the restructuring and repositioning of businesses.

Before joining KPMG Ni dageria, Emezie-Ezigbo was a Lead Financial Analyst at IBM Canada. Her professional experience also includes Stanbic IBTC Group and Canadian Tire Corporation.

She holds a first-class B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Nigeria and an M.Sc. in Finance from Cass Business School, City University, London. She also completed the Advanced Management Programme at Lagos Business School.

Emezie-Ezigbo is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Association of Chartered Professional Accountants in Canada.

Her appointment adds a senior transaction advisory executive to VFD Group's management team, with experience spanning M&A, valuation, capital raising and financial strategy.
