Mauritius’ largest bank, MCB- Mauritius Commercial Bank, and a group of leading financial institutions from the island nation will converge on Lagos on September 10 for the Mauritius Finance Business Forum, as Mauritius seeks to deepen its engagement with Nigeria and strengthen its position as a gateway for investment into and across Africa.
The half-day forum, organised by Mauritius Finance, the flagship body representing Mauritius’ global business and broader financial services sector, will bring together Nigerian and Mauritian investors, financial institutions, business leaders and professional advisers for discussions around cross-border investment and financial opportunities.
MCB will be represented by Abiodun Azeez, Chief Representative Officer, while other speakers for the Lagos edition include Terry Antoinette, Head – Middle East & Africa at DTOS; Washim Toorabally, Managing Director of Manta Ray Management; and Tajnisha Rambocus Bissessur, Associate Director – Business Development at Trident Trust.
The discussions will focus on cross-border investments, private capital and funds, wealth and estate planning, trade and investment facilitation, regulatory and tax efficiency, and fintech and virtual assets.
The participation of MCB alongside DTOS, Manta Ray Management and Trident Trust reflects the breadth of Mauritius’ financial services ecosystem, which spans banking, investment management, corporate and fiduciary services and fund administration.
The forum comes as businesses and investors across African markets increasingly look beyond domestic capital pools for financing, investment structures and international financial services. Mauritius has positioned itself as an international financial centre serving African markets, with its financial services sector playing a growing role in facilitating cross-border investment.
The Lagos event will also feature a networking cocktail, providing participants with an opportunity to engage directly with representatives of Mauritius’ financial services industry.
The Mauritius Finance Roadshow 2026 will take place in Cairo on September 7 before moving to Lagos on September 10. The Lagos Business Forum will be held at Four Points by Sheraton, Lagos, with registration from 9:30 am and the forum running from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
