Detail Dispute Lawyers (DDL), a specialist disputes boutique firm, has launched in Nigeria with offices in Lagos and Abuja. The firm is co-founded by Isaiah Bozimo SAN, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria renowned for his expertise in commercial arbitration and dispute resolution, and Laura Alakija FCIArb , accomplished independent arbitrator and ADR expert.
DDL maintains a strategic alliance with Detail Commercial Solicitors, Nigeria's first commercial solicitor firm to specialize exclusively in non-courtroom practice—focusing on transactional, corporate, commercial, and regulatory advisory work rather than litigation. While the two firms remain fully independent, this collaboration provides clients with seamless, coordinated support across disputes and non-contentious matters.
The new practice consolidates the disputes practice previously operated through Broderick Bozimo & Company (BBaC) with the arbitration-focused practice of Laura Alakija & Co. DDL specializes in commercial and investment arbitration, arbitration-related court proceedings, complex commercial litigation, and dispute strategy and avoidance.
Laura Alakija brings extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), with a strong emphasis on arbitration under major international rules. She has acted in proceedings governed by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), and other institutional frameworks, as well as UNCITRAL, Lagos Court of Arbitration (LCA), and Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration Lagos (RCICAL) rules. Her practice also encompasses mediation and broader ADR mechanisms.
